Three talented local artists in the Southwest Florida music community made their national debut at the National Flute Association Convention in San Diego, CA in 2005. It was there they first performed as The Mountain Laurel Trio, the name of the suite commissioned for them at their request by James M Stephenson, III. Since then, they have been performing frequently as a group with a recent program aptly described as including “a bouquet of gems from classical to jazz - with a few Barn Dances thrown in just for fun!” We expect no less when they make their first appearance on this years Signature series.
Featuring: Beth Larsen (flute), Scott Ellington (clarinet), Julie Bearden Shafer (piano)

Chamber music at its very best will be heard when this accomplished piano trio presents two well known and loved classical trios, Beethoven’s “Archduke” and Dvorak’s “Dumky”. This concert certainly will provide a fitting conclusion to this the 8th season of Signature Chamber Concerts.
